Steering System Ackerman Study
This kinematics model was used to optimize steering geometry. Excessive Ackerman error was causing severe tire scrub - and expensive warranty claims. Through the use of this model NATC was able to recommend a dimension change that reduced tire scrub to an acceptable level.
